 Today in class, we answered discussion questions about The Rockpile. I learned more about the themes of the Rockpile and the challenges, which gave me a better understanding of the story. I’m not sure how I’ll use this, but its taught me that people change with their environment, which is a theme of the Rockpile. I liked the discussion questions because I worked with my friends to complete it. My day has been going good, I have a quiz in APUSH coming up, so i'm focusing on that.

 Today in class we did a group assignment for the story Rockpile. I learned about Harlem and a story about how it was living there and important lessons about family. I don't know when I will use this in my life, but I do know more knowledge about the world. I liked this because the story was interesting. My day is going good.

 Today in class we worked on an argument paragraph and stated our position on the effects of social media. I learned just how much social media has affected us and how to create an argument out of an article. I will use this when managing my time with social media and making arguments in future writing classes. I liked this assignment since we could state our opinion. My day is going great.

 Today in class we had a lecture learning about how if you don't back up your evidence and explain it, then there could be doubt. I learned how to explain my evidence and how to back it up so there is no doubt. I will take this when I am arguing with somebody, if I am in court one day, or in college or in future writing classes. I loved this assignment because the lecture was interesting and taught me a lot about court cases. I am doing good today.

Over the break my brother came home from college. I spent a couple of days with him and we worked out and went to midtown together. We also watched movies. When he left I hung out with my friends and did some homework I got. I also played a lot of video games. 

 Today in class we read a poem that was called "We Real Cool." I learned what is cool and what is not and how high school students do things that they think is cool but in reality they should not be doing it. I also learned how to create a claim and use evidence from observations and experiences. I liked this assignment because it gave me a new insight on how high school students act and how they do stuff sometimes that they think is cool but really isn't and is for adults. It also taught me that we shouldn't rush adulthood. I will use this when backing up my claims with evidence on experiences and observations and when I think of doing something bad in school. My day is going great because it is Friday and fall break is coming up and we're going hiking and seeing nature.

 Today in class we had to make claims, label the claims, and create an opposing claim to it on a passage. I learned how to make claims and also how to create arguments against them. It also improved my understanding of claims and how better write them and back them up with evidence. I liked this assignment because we could give our opinions on things and learn how to argue better. I will use this when I am trying to convince someone of something or make a claim. My day is going great.

 Today in class we got a lecture about evidence through observations, readings, and experiences, then we did a worksheet. I learned how to back up my claims with evidence and the different types of evidence. I believe I will use this when making any claim attempting to have supporting evidence and I now know what evidence to trust. I liked this assignment because we spoke our opinions and gave our own readings, experiences, and observations. My day is going great.

 Today we learned 15 new vocabulary words and evidence. I learned 15 new vocabulary words and used them in sentences to better my vocabulary. I will use this when writing essays, talking, and writing anything formal. I personally disliked this assignment because it wasn't very interactive. My day is going good.

 Today in class we made claims of fact/opinions based on prompts. I learned how to create a claim of fact and opinion. I will use this when arguing with people or whenever talking about this in school. I personally liked this assignment because we could write our own opinion. My day is going great since its the weekend.

 Today we took a benchmark test. I learned about the United States and its history with isolation and how it got to intervening. I personally hated this assignment because we had to write an essay and answer 25 questions. I don't think I can take this into my future or the real world. My day is going terrible.

 Today we looked at many different topics and created a value of claim. I learned what values of claim is and a criteria list and how to better make a claim. I think I will use this in life when arguing or just making a claim. I liked this assignment because the topics were fun and we got to make our own claims and opinions. My day is going bad.
