Friday - We Real Cool Poem

 Today in class we read a poem that was called "We Real Cool." I learned what is cool and what is not and how high school students do things that they think is cool but in reality they should not be doing it. I also learned how to create a claim and use evidence from observations and experiences. I liked this assignment because it gave me a new insight on how high school students act and how they do stuff sometimes that they think is cool but really isn't and is for adults. It also taught me that we shouldn't rush adulthood. I will use this when backing up my claims with evidence on experiences and observations and when I think of doing something bad in school. My day is going great because it is Friday and fall break is coming up and we're going hiking and seeing nature.

 If someone invaded my privacy online or on my phone, I would feel super invaded, like someone was sneaking around in my stuff without asking. It would be like if a stranger just walked into my room and started looking through my things. Privacy should be a basic civil liberty because people should be able to do things without someone always watching them. If I don’t have privacy, then I don’t really have freedom, and that’s not fair. Today in class we read a poem by Langston Hughes.  Over winter break, I got an imperative amount of rest, making sure to recharge before school started again. Most of my time was spent playing video games, an impalpable escape from reality that made the days fly by. I also hung out with my brother, who was home from college, and we had a great time catching up, though his presence was sometimes an impediment to my gaming schedule. Despite being a bit impecunious after holiday shopping, I still managed to have fun without spending much money. The only thing that could impair my break was the thought of school starting again. Today in class we did a vocab comic strip using the 15 words we learned from the book. I did not really like this assignment since I am not so creative and good at coloring/drawing.

Friday: Prompt: If you could plan the perfect spring break with no limitation, money, time, or responsibilities—what would it look like? Where would you go, who would you bring, and what would you do?

 If I could plan the perfect spring break with no limitation, I would definitely travel to somewhere with my family. I would probably go traveling around Europe for the 8-9 days we have off. I would make sure to see Norway, Iceland, and the Alps. The hiking there would be stunning and the landscape is insane. That would definitely be my perfect spring break. Today in class it was a make-up day so we just finished what we hadn't previously. It was nice to get a make up day to get caught up since we're coming to the end of the semester.
