Tuesday: Prompt: Write about a book, poem, or article you’ve read that made you feel something deeply—whether it was joy, anger, sadness, or curiosity. What was the text, and what moment or message stood out to you the most?

 I read Into Thin Air and it kinda messed me up. It’s about this group climbing Mount Everest and everything just goes horribly wrong. What hit me the most was how people literally died just trying to get back down, like after all that work, the mountain still didn’t care. It made me feel really sad and kind of mad at how brutal nature can be. Also, it made me never want to climb Everest ever.

Today in class we went over figurative language, and specifically imagery. I appreciated this assignment since we got to choose our own items to do imagery for and also it gave me more of an understanding of imagery and how to identify it when it comes up in articles that I read.

 If I could plan the perfect spring break with no limitation, I would definitely travel to somewhere with my family. I would probably go traveling around Europe for the 8-9 days we have off. I would make sure to see Norway, Iceland, and the Alps. The hiking there would be stunning and the landscape is insane. That would definitely be my perfect spring break. Today in class it was a make-up day so we just finished what we hadn't previously. It was nice to get a make up day to get caught up since we're coming to the end of the semester.

Thursday: Prompt: Based on the two informational passages that you've read thus far this week, write about how you will personally strive to avoid student loan debt?

 I don’t want to be stuck with student loan debt, so ill try to avoid it by getting scholarships, going to an in state college, and maybe working part-time. I’ll also look for grants and choose a school that isn’t crazy expensive. If I can, ill save money before college so I don’t have to borrow as much.  Today in class we read a passage about student loan debt. I really liked this assignment since this taught me to carefully monitor my money and reevaluate my goals after high school.

Friday: Prompt: Share your personal tips for preparing for major exams. Include what works best for you—flashcards, study groups, practice tests, etc.—and why.

 I don’t usually study much, but practice tests are the best way for me to prepare for major exams. They help me see what I actually know and what I need to work on without wasting time on stuff I already understand. Practice tests also get me used to the format of the real exam, so I feel more confident when I take it.  Today in class we read a passage about Susan B. Anthony and womens rights to votes. This passage informed me more and helped prepare me for the end of course test and it was interesting so I liked it.
