Friday: Wednesday: Prompt: Reflect on a time when you had to rely on someone else. How did it feel?

 A time when I had to rely on someone else was my brother when I needed to ask my dad for a favor, but I wasn’t sure how to bring it up. I asked my brother to talk to him for me, and he did it without hesitation. It felt a little weird to not do it myself, but my brother handled it really well. He knows how to talk to our dad in a way that makes things easier, and it made me realize that sometimes it’s okay to ask for help with things that feel uncomfortable. 

Today in class, we worked on a collage and went to the media center to pick our classes for next year.

Reflection: Picking classes for next year made me think about my future and what I want to do. The collage was a fun way to connect with the story, and it helped me understand it better.

 If someone invaded my privacy online or on my phone, I would feel super invaded, like someone was sneaking around in my stuff without asking. It would be like if a stranger just walked into my room and started looking through my things. Privacy should be a basic civil liberty because people should be able to do things without someone always watching them. If I don’t have privacy, then I don’t really have freedom, and that’s not fair. Today in class we read a poem by Langston Hughes. Monday: Prompt: Describe what you did over the winter break (use at least 5 words from Vocabulary Lesson 10 in your paragraph)

 Over winter break, I got an imperative amount of rest, making sure to recharge before school started again. Most of my time was spent playing video games, an impalpable escape from reality that made the days fly by. I also hung out with my brother, who was home from college, and we had a great time catching up, though his presence was sometimes an impediment to my gaming schedule. Despite being a bit impecunious after holiday shopping, I still managed to have fun without spending much money. The only thing that could impair my break was the thought of school starting again. Today in class we did a vocab comic strip using the 15 words we learned from the book. I did not really like this assignment since I am not so creative and good at coloring/drawing.

Friday: Prompt: If you could plan the perfect spring break with no limitation, money, time, or responsibilities—what would it look like? Where would you go, who would you bring, and what would you do?

 If I could plan the perfect spring break with no limitation, I would definitely travel to somewhere with my family. I would probably go traveling around Europe for the 8-9 days we have off. I would make sure to see Norway, Iceland, and the Alps. The hiking there would be stunning and the landscape is insane. That would definitely be my perfect spring break. Today in class it was a make-up day so we just finished what we hadn't previously. It was nice to get a make up day to get caught up since we're coming to the end of the semester.
