Monday - Vocab list image assignment

 Today in class we got a list of vocab words and had to define them and give an image, as well as put a caption to the image explaining it and how it reflects the vocab word. I learned many different vocab words, such as adroit, animosity, aggrandize, etc. I plan to use this in my everyday life in my words and tone and have better English. I liked this lesson personally because I like to learn more words to use in talking because it reflects intelligence and also I can converse English better. I am feeling bad today because I got 6 hours of sleep and had a long weekend and don't want another week of school to start. I also have a lot of homework today.

 I read Into Thin Air and it kinda messed me up. It’s about this group climbing Mount Everest and everything just goes horribly wrong. What hit me the most was how people literally died just trying to get back down, like after all that work, the mountain still didn’t care. It made me feel really sad and kind of mad at how brutal nature can be. Also, it made me never want to climb Everest ever. Today in class we went over figurative language, and specifically imagery. I appreciated this assignment since we got to choose our own items to do imagery for and also it gave me more of an understanding of imagery and how to identify it when it comes up in articles that I read.

Friday: Prompt: If you could plan the perfect spring break with no limitation, money, time, or responsibilities—what would it look like? Where would you go, who would you bring, and what would you do?

 If I could plan the perfect spring break with no limitation, I would definitely travel to somewhere with my family. I would probably go traveling around Europe for the 8-9 days we have off. I would make sure to see Norway, Iceland, and the Alps. The hiking there would be stunning and the landscape is insane. That would definitely be my perfect spring break. Today in class it was a make-up day so we just finished what we hadn't previously. It was nice to get a make up day to get caught up since we're coming to the end of the semester.

Friday: Prompt: How do you find time to enjoy your day, even when you have a lot going on? Write about at least three specific things you do to enjoy small moments throughout your day.

 I have time to enjoy my day even when I am busy by making time. Being in school for a long part of my life has given me pretty good time management skills so it is easy to make time when I am very busy. I usually have to compromise something in my day, or I usually just plan ahead. Even during my busy days, I try to make at least 30-45 minutes of free time for whatever I want to do. To sum it up, I make time by compromising something, planning ahead, and also will find at least 30-45 minutes to do something I love to do.  Today in class we went over how the EOC works and also did Newsela articles. I appreciated these assignments since it proficiently prepared me for the EOC. In addition, the newsela articles were interesting and boosted my reading and comprehension skills.
